TAUNTON MARATHON, HALF MARATHON & FAMILY FUN RUN 2009

Sunday 5th April, saw us all heading out to take part in our now annual participation in Taunton’s Fun Run & Half Marathon.

This year we had 63 Fun Run entrants and 19 Half Marathon entrants. Once again the sea of yellow at the starting point was fantastic as we all awaited our races. First off were our half marathoners who set off to a massive roar of cheering. Once they were safely on their way our fun runners lined up and set off at the starting gun with their usual zest and enthusiasm. You all crossed the line as if you could run it again, well done to you all. Congratulations to Darren Stone our fastest male who completed the Half in 1hr 34m and our fastest female, Renee Bidgway who finished in 2h 10m Very special thanks to our all of non ESCAPE runners and on behalf of the Half Marathoners a huge thank you to the supporters who managed to also make their way around the route, with Jelly Babies and encouragement.

Thanks also to;- Subway of Crown Walk, Shauls Bakery of Bridge St, Clarkes Fruit and Veg, Ministry of Cake, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, & Domino’s Pizza who all donated food for our pre-race party.
