Monday 20 July 2026 PRESS RELEASE: TAUNTON BREWHOUSE PARTNERS WITH ECAPE SUPPORT GROUP FOR CHRISTMAS PAY IT FORWARD Taunton Brewhouse is proud to be partnering with Escape Support Group – a Somerset charity supporting families of children with additional needs and disabilities – to offer free tickets to Treasure Island this Christmas. Written by Mike Akers, (Bristol Old Vic’s Peter Pan and Jane Eyre) and directed by Stephanie Kempson (The Wardrobe Theatre’s The Good, The Bad, and the Coyote Ugly and Soap Soup Theatre’s Minny Stynker), this brand new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story is packed with rousing folk music, crashing waves, and swashbuckling adventures. At its heart, however, is a story about loyalty, courage, and discovering what truly matters. As part of the Brewhouse's Pay It Forward campaign, audiences booking tickets for Treasure Island will be invited to make an optional donation. Every penny donated will go directly towards funding free tickets for families who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the production. These tickets will then be distributed through Escape Support Group. Escape Support Group supports families across Somerset who are raising children with disabilities or additional needs. Through a varied programme of activities, days out, and occasional short breaks, the charity creates opportunities for families to have fun together while helping to build confidence, develop social skills, and foster lasting friendships. Everything we do at Escape is subsidised, so this partnership fits our ethos perfectly.” “Statistics show that the cost of raising a child with a disability or additional need is considerably more than a neurotypical child.
